How to use the decision maker
- Type your two options into the boxes under the coin. For example Pizza and Tacos.
- Tap the coin or press Decide for me.
- Go with the answer, or notice how you feel about it. That reaction is useful too.
Your options are saved in your browser, so they are still there next time.
Decisions a coin is good for
- Where to eat, what to order, which film to watch.
- Who goes first, who pays, who does the washing up.
- Choosing between two equally good plans or gifts.
- Any choice where overthinking costs more than a wrong answer.
The coin flip gut check
When you are torn, flip and watch your reaction. Relief means the coin picked what you wanted. Disappointment means you already had a preference, and you can choose that option instead. Either way, the flip has done its job.
When not to flip
A coin suits low-stakes choices between two similar options. For decisions about health, money or safety, use the flip at most as a prompt to think, not as the answer.
Need more than two options?
Use the dice roller to pick between up to 20 choices by numbering them, or flip several coins and combine the results.

Frequently asked questions
Can I choose between more than two options?
The coin chooses between two. For more, number your options and use the dice roller, for example a d6 for six choices.
Are my options saved?
Yes, but only in your own browser. Nothing you type is sent to our server.
Is the choice truly random?
Yes. Each flip is decided by your browser's secure random number generator with equal odds for both options.
How long can the option labels be?
Up to 18 characters each, so they fit neatly on the coin.
